He twice participated in the elections. In 2016, he ran for the State Duma of the 7th convocation from the Patriots Of Russia party, and was registered.

In 2017, he ran for the Council of Deputies of the Novo-Peredelkino Municipal District as a self-nominator, but failed.

In 2018, Skurlatov published the book “Russia in the Fog. Political Chronicles 2011-2017”.

One of the founders of the National Fund for Promotion of Sustainable Development of Regions.

In 2019, he became one of the founders of two more organizations: the “International Royal Diplomacy” Foundation for the Support and Development of Socio-Economic Initiatives, which provides financial services and organizes conferences and exhibitions, as well as the “NKD” joint-stock company, whose field of activity is wholesale trade.

As of now, he is the head of the exercutive committee of the civic coaltion “The Third Force”, he is also the head of the council of the All-Russian Civic Association “Free Russia”."
